General description of the organisation:
FEPORTS - Foundation Port Institute of Studies and Cooperation of the Valencian Community
The Foundation is an institution of general interest, a public not for profit organization, established jointly by the Valencian Regional Government (Valencian Generalitat) and the Port Authorities of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, in April of 1998 and opened to the participation of other organizations and interested people.
The Foundation was established with the Law 30/1994 of 24 of November of Foundations and Fiscal Incentives to the Participation Deprived in Activities of General Interest, and is welcomed in the Protectorate of the Valencian Generalitat, in accordance with the anticipated thing in Decree 60/1995, of 18 of April, the Valencian Government, creation of the Registry and Protectorate of Foundations of the Valencian Community.
FEPORTS is an organization aimed at developing activities in the fields of studies & research, education & training, cooperation and culture in the port sector, and operates not only in the territory of the Valencian Community but also at national and international level.
The FEPORTS Foundation employs 21 people specialized in marine and port related issues, having highly experienced experts in this sector.
Role of the participant organisation in the proposed project / network:
As Applicant Organization, FEPORTS will be responsible to coordinate all the works of the partners and will oversee all technical, administrative, financial and legal issues
As subject interested and actively involved in developing studies & research, education & training, cooperation and culture in the port sector, FEPORTS will be also an active partner in the WorkPackages devised for developing and testing innovative methodologies and contents for learning through simulation and disseminating the project results, providing to the various workgroups its technical skills and positively using its role of public representative of a whole port community for facilitating both vertical and horizontal dissemination and project results adoption by the end users.
Will lead WP5 (Dissemination) WP6 (Exploitation), WP8 (Management). Will participate to all other WPs.
